I completed my first degree in History and Art in 1985 at Reading University. I then worked in London as a production assistant for the BBC before travelling around South East Asia. In 1992-5 I lived in Japan and studied traditional Japanese Ceramics. I returned to the UK in 1996 and attained an MA in Ceramics at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. In 2008 I achieved an MA in Fine Art Printmaking at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.
In 1996 I began working as a professional artist from a studio at Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge. In June 2010 I moved to a new, purpose built studio in Histon, Cambridge.
